Lesson 2: Java and CodingScripts

The Java (tm) language was created to allow one piece of code to run on different types of machines without rewriting it. It has the look and feel of C++, without many of the more advanced features that often get programmers into trouble.  The Java langauge is supported by all of the major Internet browsers and is a driving force in Internet web development.   It was created by Patrick Naughton, Bill Joy and James Gosling of Sun Micrososystems. 

     JavaScript, is a scripting language used to create interactive web pages.  Though less powerful than the Java programming language, it is also much simpler to learn.
